As resources permit, the university will support the ongoing development of staff through professional/technical seminars, courses, programs, degrees, etc., insofar as the latter may (a) improve the performance of particular staff members or (b) enable them to perform new functions in the context of the university mission.
Applications for staff development, along with recommendations/ endorsements by unit heads/supervisors will be received by the Director of Personnel and Administrative Services and processed for consideration by the Faculty [and Staff] Development Committee and approval by the President.
A separate Staff Development Budget will complement the Faculty Development Budget.
