USIC, CLG empower Buhi leaders
in barangay legislation training

The Governance Cluster of the University Social Involvement Council (USIC) and the Center for Local Governance (CLG) held a Training on Barangay Legislation last September 3-4, 2009.

The said training was participated in by all of the five pilot barangays in Buhi, namely: Antipolo, Gabas, Sagrada, Sta. Cruz and Sta. Justina.

Florante L. Belleza Jr. of the Department of Business Adminstration, was the main resource facilitator. He was joined by Legal Management Institute of Ateneo de Naga Students (LMIANS): Angela S. Agawin, Robinson Antonio, Ian John S. Balares, Kathleen P. Felipe, Laxel B. Gasga, Ayla Marie A. Lunar, Julia Marie C. Nubla, Joseph Isaac S. Puto, Francis Victor M. Ruizo, Exequiel Sumalabe, Juvirose D. Tonga, and Robin Lemuel S. Villadares as workshop facilitators.

The said capability-building activity was conducted to enhance the skills/capabilities of barangay leaders to enact barangay ordinances/resolutions for the benefit of their respective barangays and the welfare of their constituents.
