The Ateneo de Naga University Math and Science Department hosted the Second Regional Convention and Scientific Meeting of the Philippine Society for Microbiology (PSM) last 14 November 2009 at the Bro. Richie Fernando, S.J. Hall last 14 November 2009. Over a hundred and twenty (120) representatives from schools and local government units participated.
Dr. Michael Clores of the Math and Science Department started the event with his welcome remarks followed by an opening speech from Ms. Charmaine Malonzo, current President of the PSM Bicol Chapter. For the duration of the day, five (5) lectures were held to tackle the various and oftentimes fascinating properties of the microbes.
